Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both members of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump informed journalists. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Attendees came together over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to support policing efforts in the capital.

“She was the type of pupil that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of her former high school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to help others.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The incident caused the Trump administration to halt asylum applications and cease issuing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Wolfe, a resident of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with distinction, per the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had courage,” he told the crowd at the service. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
