Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans offered sympathy for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
